A fast-growing spinout from the University of Birmingham, Vanguard is delivering clean, sustainable solutions to drive the decarbonisation of heavy transport.
Built on decades of cutting-edge research that span across the mobility and energy sectors, these holistic solutions are delivered through the development of hydrogen and battery solutions, including the use of propulsion systems, a long-term supply of hydrogen and charging infrastructure.
Vanguard employs a systems approach focused on demand-led solutions providing clean mobility for people and goods.
From its base at Tyseley Energy Park (TEP), Vanguard is supporting governments, rail operators and rolling stock owners achieve the decarbonisation of UK and global rail networks. In addition to rapidly decarbonising transport systems, Vanguard is committed to developing the exceptional engineering talent needed to deliver the identified sustainable transport solutions.
Speaking about the decision to base Vanguard at TEP, Rob Gibson, Chief Operating Officer, said: “Tyseley Energy Park provides a unique opportunity for start-up companies, like Vanguard, to be immersed in a group of likeminded businesses who are all interested in developing green technologies. By working with TEP, the University of Birmingham and the strong network of connections in the green energy arena, we believe we can grow from start-up to a thriving SME that is a leader in in decarbonising transport, across all sectors, including hydrogen supply networks.”
