We’re excited to welcome ReCognition Circular CIC to Tyseley Energy Park, not just for the impact they’re making locally, but for their broader mission to tackle digital exclusion and electronic waste on a regional scale. Their innovative approach combines retraining, reusing, and repurposing technology, making a real difference both in our community and beyond.

As part of their mission, ReCognition Circular aims to bridge the digital divide by retraining individuals, reusing materials to eliminate digital waste, and repurposing computers and mobile devices. Their focus on substituting material and energy resources with human potential allows people to access the digital world, benefitting both individuals and the planet. In addition, their work directly supports community development by equipping young people with valuable skills that enhance employment opportunities.

Celebrating End Digital Poverty Day

Recently, ReCognition Circular spearheaded an impactful event at Tyseley Energy Park to mark End Digital Poverty Day. Led by David Abosch MBA and Callum Faulds, the event focused on addressing the digital divide within the Tyseley community. During the event, ReCognition Circular donated 12 refurbished laptops to local residents facing digital exclusion, ensuring these individuals had access to essential online services and job opportunities.

The event, supported by the University of Birmingham, provided hands-on assistance to the recipients, helping them set up LinkedIn profiles, access job search platforms, and improve their digital skills. The day was made even more impactful thanks to partnerships with organisations such as the Ashiana Community Project, Digital Poverty Alliance, and Digital NNS.

This initiative is an excellent example of the powerful change that can happen when a community comes together to make a difference. By equipping residents with the tools they need to thrive in a digital world, ReCognition Circular has already begun making a significant contribution to the well-being of Tyseley’s residents.

A Shared Commitment to Sustainability and Community Growth

At Tyseley Energy Park, we are thrilled to have ReCognition Circular on site, helping to foster a positive impact in our local community. Their commitment to digital inclusion and waste reduction aligns with our own goals of sustainable development and supporting local talent. We look forward to future collaborations and encourage everyone to follow their work closely.

If you want to support this incredible cause, consider donating your unused devices or sponsoring a young person through their digital training programs. Together, we can continue building a more inclusive, digitally connected future for everyone.

Stay tuned for more updates on their work, and thank you to everyone involved in making this initiative a success!
